THEY EAT THEIR EGGS, IT’S CRAZY

They Eat Their Eggs

Riddle Riddle

They lay their eggs, and they eat them

Who are they?

They are selfish, they only thing they care about is their stomach

No surprise they look pregnant with their protruding bellies

Precious, promising eggs destined to hatch into beautiful chicks

They’d rather eat these eggs with their side chicks.

A question to the leaders of this nation

Do you ever imagine being in our shoes for a second

The trammels we face on the daily, the dreams you kill

Do you think about the setbacks you set for us, aren’t you supposed to have our backs

Do you know how many young ones out there running on the shores of their destinies too afraid to swim?

Because of the sharks you fill the waters with.

Do you remember the promises you made to us, or you just remember your secret pacts with the selected few

Your appointed wolves that eat the biggest portions of what’s meant for us

They eat the national cake and we barely touch the crumbs

It’s a game of politics and we are the pawns

Like a football, they kick our dreams left and right.

As if that’s s not enough

You never cease to groom young ones to be like you

To play your dirty game of politics

Youth wings of party A and B, teaching them the ABCs of corruption and propaganda that’s never served us well

You lay your eggs and you eat them

You are selfish, they only thing you care about is your stomach

It’s no surprise you look pregnant with your protruding bellies

Precious, promising eggs destined to hatch into beautiful chicks

You’d rather eat these eggs with your side chicks.

IT’S CRAZY

Clipped wings, how shall we fly

Killed spirits, how can we try

Heart versus mind, a war that never ends

Head against the wall, it’s us against the world

Many tried, cried for freedom in all forms

Promises were made but all were empty

Giving us things that are all vanity

Started with something promising, now looks clueless, glue less …it’s all falling apart.

We struggle with ourselves and our doubts, and lack of confidence.

We struggle with our peers and our rivals, and lack of cooperation.

We struggle with our leaders and our elders, and lack of guidance.

We struggle with our culture and our society, and lack of acceptance

Some were born to be the heads, but there are no necks in support

Some are born to be the bread winners, but there are no breads to be won

How do you take food from the mouth of the hungry soul and put in the mouth of the satisfied one

Dreams louder than our silence, but you still manage to shut it

Dreams that are brighter to illuminate our darkness but you manage to dim it.

Two paths to make it, and you block the easy one

Tied up our hands and call us the lazy ones.

It’s so crazy, we are at the verge of losing our minds.
